I hope I'm not wearing out my welcome--three posts in three days--yeesh!
Today is the link up for the third round of the Gwennie Inspired Medallion sew along.
The theme was LOG CABINS and this is what I came up with:
|
I found a piece of blue that matched my blue flowers pretty closely and the light part of my log cabin blocks was a strip of Edyta Sitar Snow Birds fabric left over from a quilt back. I've used up just about all of both fabrics, so round four is going to be a challenge. I'm afraid I may be too anal to be improvisational! The theme for round four is STARS--I'm going to have to think about that! |
|
I finally caught up with the Temecula Circa 2016 blocks too!

You're sure not wearing me out - I always love to see your beautiful projects :0) I love your take on the log cabin border.
ReplyDeleteI like how the white and the blue parts of the log cabin blocks frame the center medallion section. It worked out really well.
ReplyDeleteThat blue is so pretty. Your log cabins make a perfect frame. I LOVE the fabric you chose for your flower basket!
ReplyDeleteYou could never wear out your welcome! What a gorgeous and perfect border, and a perfect way to incorporate log cabins. I love that shade of blue it's so fresh and pretty.
ReplyDeletePerfect border addition--like a ring of mountains around your center lovely hugs, Julierose
ReplyDeleteLooks lovely, I'm late, not finished yet!
ReplyDeletePerfect fabrics and design! Well done!
ReplyDeleteI look forward to your postings and seeing what you are working on/have finished! I cannot help you with the blue fabric, but if that Laundry Basket floral print is the one I am thinking of, I have some that I would be willing to part with.
ReplyDeleteYou could post every day and I'd be happy! You always seem to have something fun going on. 8)
ReplyDeleteThe blue in your log cabins frames that center perfectly. I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with the stars!
Perfect beautiful border and top.
ReplyDeleteLove the log cabin border for the medallion. That looks great. good luck with the next challenge.
ReplyDeleteLovely... has soon for the stars
ReplyDeleteKaren I love your border. Hugs
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteLove your quilt top, very pretty.
Have a great day!
I love everything about your medallion!
ReplyDeleteWow! This is gorgeous! Love the colors!
ReplyDeleteYour log cabin border matches with your medallion ! You chose a perfect combo with your center !
ReplyDeleteI think the log cabin border looks spectacular. I think it echoes the rick rack in the center and I would have guessed that it was the same fabric as those blue flowers. I have to think about stars for a while, too, considering that my flowers in the center are star-like and I've already used stars in the first border. This has been a fun challenge!

Your logs make a great frame and I thought the design echoed the rick rack as well.
ReplyDeleteLove the way your log cabin blocks form a scallop!
ReplyDeleteVery interesting border! Good work
