Christmas Countdown! Day Four

I think this is one of my all time favorite quilts that I have ever made!
I collected home-spun fabrics for ages and when I thought I had enough, I started this quilt. There are a few plaids and checks that are printed, but for the most part they are woven. It's a really cuddly cozy quilt and I love the scrappy binding too.

finished in 2006 and measures 55.5 x 71.5"

Yes, my iron barfed on the upper right corner when I was pressing a few of the creases out of the quilt. But that's okay--the more it gets washed, the more snugly and raggedy it gets!
At the time I thought I was pretty daring throwing the pinks and limes and teals in there with the Christmas reds and greens.

I have no memory of machine embroidering this on the the front of the quilt, but I like it!

Just simple wavy line quilting.

  1. I love that quilt. Is it just circles sewn on top of circles, or do you cut out rings? I guess you could go either way. I've been thinking about doing something like this for a long time - with my increasingly bulging stack of homespun plaids.
