Today, I am officially 8 blocks behind on the 365 Challenge Blocks (these are from the previous week). Why? I've been busy quilting! Oh, and there was a holiday in the mix too--lol! |
It's a total snow storm on the back! |
Let It Snow was on my fourth quarter Finish-A-Long list HERE. It was a free Block of the Month from Buttermilk Basin during 2016. FYI: I changed up the finishing instructions by using parts from other blocks to make the top area of trees and the snowman. I also added a narrow border pine branch using part of the cardinal block so my quilt would be a bit more rectangular. |
Looks fantastic!!! Enjoy having it hang the rest of the winter.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful finish! Is that a skinny inner border or big stitches around the inner quilt? It looks like a nice accent but can't tell what makes it :-)
ReplyDeleteOnly 8 blocks behind!?! That's amazing - you made A LOT of amazing blocks for that challenge this year. I can't wait to see yours come together!! Let it Snow looks wonderful.
ReplyDeleteIts really lovely!! your 365 blocks are looking nice too
ReplyDeleteLet It Snow turned out beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI would say you have done a good job of keeping up with the 365 block challenge being only 8 behind and the year drawing to and end.
ReplyDeleteYou did a beautiful job with this, Karen. And I love that top border! Happy new year!
ReplyDeleteReally love your Let It Snow quilt! The colors are beautiful and your changes to the design are perfect. You are lucky to have it hanging for the rest of the winter. Good job!
ReplyDeleteI love how you finished your 'Let It Snow' quilt! It's lovely! I'm wondering how you got it quilted so quickly. Did you do it yourself?
ReplyDeleteYour Let It Snow quilt is fabulous!!! Such an inspiration.
ReplyDeleteYay for a finish! I have so few of them that I celebrate a finish of any kind even if its not my own. :) This one is a wonderful winter quilt!
ReplyDeleteOh Let it Snow is a Wonderful finish....just tell the Universe that you don't mean it literally as a wish or prayer or anything :)
ReplyDeleteIt's just adorable.
I love your Let It Snow! (And I agree - maybe you should have added a lower border that says "Somewhere else...")
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful finish! Love the addition of the row of pines.
ReplyDeleteI love your "Let It Snow". It will be hard to think of something else when I eventually get to mine! It's a "fun" finish especially with your fresh snow.
ReplyDeleteGreat finish with Let It Snow. I love the changes you have made to the design! Lovely work.
ReplyDeleteLove your Let It Snow variation, it's nice to know I'm not the only one that departed from Stacy's final design, I have yet to quilt mine but look forward to hit years challenge of what she will design.
ReplyDeleteAll the best in 2017!
I, too, love the finish on your Let It Snow variation. I absolutely love the pine 'branch' addition. I hope you won't mind if I do something similar. Please do let me know if it would bother you.
ReplyDeleteIts a lovely quilt but I have to agree...I could do without the snow!! Thank you for sharing and for participating in the 2016 FAL. Hope to see you at the 2017 FAL!
