I have a few things that I want to finish up this month.
This is number one! Since the Austen Family Album blocks are already on the design wall, I may as well get them sewn together instead of putting them back into their bin. |
My original thought was to set them with the darkest blue that I had been using in the blocks, but they looked so happy and summery on the white design wall, I decided to do a lighter fabric. |
I found this piece of very old scroll print in my stash: Barely There by Darlene Zimmerman for Chanteclair |
It was so nice to cut my fabric on a semi--cleared surface. I still have a way to go to clean up my table, but it's a lot better than the last time I showed it to you! |
This is another goal for March--I would love to get my Words to Live By quilted and bound! |
Linking up with WIP's on Wednesday HERE

You go Girl! these are lovely quilts to be finished up...hugs, Julierose
ReplyDeleteTwo beautiful projects. I think you made a great call on the lighter setting fabric. It does have such a light, fresh feel!
ReplyDeleteI love Lisa's Words To Live By, but all of the HSTs scared me off. I am such a wimp. Looks lovely--good luck on a March finish!
Beautiful blocks! I have sewn up a some Quilted Diamond blocks and am looking for a sashing fabric. Need a whole new color to add and not sure where to go.
ReplyDeleteLove the cleared work table. I did that to mine this week. Amazing!
First I have to say thank you for introducing me the Austen Family Album web page! I have been having a wonderful time reading the posts. I am going print off the blocks for a future quilt. Yours is just beautiful and I love your choice for the setting fabric. Your Words to Live By also looks fabulous!
ReplyDeleteTwo fantastic projects. The lighter sashing does make the whole quilt look lighter and summery. Glad you dug in your stash and found the perfect one.
ReplyDeleteWords To Live By is such a good design. I look forward to your finish.
ReplyDeleteGreat blocks and I love your use of colour in the Austen one, fabulous!
ReplyDeleteGood call on using the lighter sashing ... it makes the blocks look like they're floating.
ReplyDeleteThose are LOVELY! I am partial to the Austen Family Album quilt but they are both works of art. Well done!
ReplyDeleteThose are really lovely blocks. It looks great with the pale background. Good luck!
