A Little Housekeeping....
I've been pretty sick this week and I blame my refrigerator.
I was in the midst of deep cleaning it, when I was overcome by extreme fatigue. Soon I realized I was feverish (probably why I even thought to start cleaning it in the first place) and experiencing aches and chills.
Yep--I'm allergic to cleaning.

This is the extent of my sewing this week--my four blocks for the Temecula Summer Sampler Sew Along.
I had to take a nap after each one.

I don't think I have posted last weeks yet.
The blocks finish at four inches, so they are pretty cute!
..that takes care of the housework :)
It turns out that what actually made me sick was a diverticulitis flareup.
The wanton eating of seedy, summer fruits--strawberries, raspberries and blueberries--finally caught up with me. Maybe the Salted Caramel Boom Chicka Pop wasn't a good idea either. Since I am allergic to penicillin, I am on some horrible medication that is almost as bad as the diverticulitis. I guess I will limit myself to peaches, nectarines and Quaker Popped Rice Crisps until I decide to live dangerously again.
Back to bed.....

  1. Your cartoons are hilarious! I'm feeling particularly allergic to housework this week myself. Hope you are feeling well again soon. It's no fun being sick.

  2. Clearly the refrigerator's fault. Somehow.
    Hope you're feeling better.
    And those blocks are adorable!

  3. It was more fun when you could blame the cleaning.
Very fun post, but so sorry you are dealing with the health issues. Hope you feel better soon.
Love those little blocks. Temecula SALs have sucked me in so many times--you aren't helping me resist this one. : )

  4. Sorry to hear you are sick Karen and I hope you feel better soon! You still managed to sew some beautiful blocks! Hope you can enjoy the weekend! :) x

  5. Evidently you have caught my cleanistis! LOL So many years of housework...and it still is never done!! I like your blocks; hope your div. heals up well. You really feel crummy when that hits your system!! hang in hugs, Julierose

  6. Love your little Temulca blocks! Sorry to hear you are sick, take dare and get well soon.

  7. Oh Karen... I truly feel bad for you but I couldn't help LMAO at your post! Those cartoons are hilarious! Anyway, seeing your cute little blocks encourages me to get started on mine.

  8. Gosh, I'm sorry that you're not feeling well, but you did make me laugh.

  9. Love the cartoons! And the wee blocks.

  10. I'm so sorry to hear that you're not feeling well ... hoping that the meds will do their job and that you'll be better in no time.

  11. Well atleast you still keep your sense of humor...good job making lemonaide from lemons Karen! I loved that last comic too!

  12. What a shame you have to miss out on those lovely fruits. But it is for the better. An allergy to cleaning did sound good, though. I used to think I was sometimes allergic to children, but that was when I was teaching.

  13. The cartoons are great and so is your post. Thanks for the chuckle. While your digestive problems may have been aggravated by the seedy fruits and think you were on to something when you said it was the housework that brought it on! I shall bear that in mind the next time I feel the urge to dust!
