How is it possible that November is already half gone and there are only 11 days until Thanksgiving--crazy!
I finished the hand stitching on Tucker..... |
....and then tea dyed and sanded him. That's right--sanded! I'll have more on Tucker later this week. |
I'm back to working on this little project. I'm just doing a little hand quilting in the border and then I may tie it with tiny buttons--still up in the air about that--another "we'll see" situation. I hope you find a little time to do some hand stitching today! Linking with Slow Sunday Stitching HERE |
love the projects you are working on
ReplyDeleteYour Tucker looks great, I still haven't finished mine.
ReplyDeleteI always love the colors you use in your work. Sending Hexi smiles your way!
ReplyDeleteI am intrigued by the sanding term you have used and look forward to learning more. Your hexagon piece is pretty as is but I can well understand that it is an awkward size. If you can get in the mood, making it bigger sounds like the best solution. There are many quilt patterns that make something not big enough for covering up with but too big for most quilter's available wall space.
ReplyDeleteAlright now I need to know! Sanding I will be wondering all day as I stitch today. I just can't imagine I love all of your hexie projects! Looking forward to your decision.
ReplyDeleteLove all the bright and pretty projects...If you want to make Stars in a Garden bigger, maybe make a daisy chain sort of border with hexies and applique them on? Just a thought. Now I will wonder about this sanding....:)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful tucker--I've never heard of sanding fabric--sounds intriguing--I'd love to know how to do it--I think it would fit into my 9-ers project well.
ReplyDeleteYour hexagon stars in the garden are just gorgeous--I love the colors...it does get difficult when those hexagon works get larger--well, when the Winter snow, sleet and winds come, you can cover up with it and continue on it...hugs, Julierose

I love visiting your blog.... always so many lovely projects on the go! These are all beautiful! Have a lovely week! Christine x
ReplyDeleteSanding? You've got to explain this and soon. :) Love your hexie projects too.
ReplyDeleteYour Tucker project is beautiful and I love your hexi projects
ReplyDeleteP.S. i sent for that hexagon pattern--no more just winging it--my poor ole Monet's Jardin is still hanging in my "Closet of shame" not knowing where to go next.....
ReplyDeletehugs, Julierose
One of my favorite things about quilting . . . options!! All of your work is wonderful!! :)
ReplyDeleteYour hexies are fantastic! I hope to try them one day soon!
ReplyDeleteWonderful projects. Your little hexes are so cute too. Thanks for sharing!!
ReplyDeleteAlways enjoy seeing your slow stitching. Your Stars in the Garden is awesome and you've left many an inquiring quilters about sanding process on your quilt.
ReplyDeleteI want to hear more about the sanding!
ReplyDeleteTucker is very sweet--sand and all. : )
Oh, I am so jealous that your Stars in the Garden is assembled. I am just putting the final round on star number 3. I have a LONG way to go. Yours is wonderful! You have inspired me to work on mine a few evenings this past week. Thanks!
Wonderful projects, all of them.
ReplyDeleteI think tying with little buttons is a wonderful idea for the hexagon quilt.
Lovely hexie projects. We had a speaker at our guild meeting last week who showed us all of her hexie quilts....dozens of them, and many were huge! So many options of different patterns to try.
ReplyDeleteSanding? Ok, now you have my curiosity piqued! And I can't wait to read what you are thinking of doing with your Stars in the Garden ... it's certainly beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI like how your Tucker turned out! I'm going to quilt mine, too.
ReplyDeleteI'm loving your starry hexagons so much!!
ReplyDeleteI like this one Stars quilting. It is so pretty!
ReplyDeleteBeowulf you have been busy! Love little Tucker. I have heard of sanding denim, but not quilting cotton as it's comparitively thin, but with the tea dying perhaps you're going for a worn and aged look?!?! Look forward to finding out. Hope the new week' s started well 🙂
ReplyDeleteBeowulf, what the?!?!!! Predictive text gone rogue!
ReplyDeleteYour Stars in the Garden is gorgeous....ought to add it to my (very long) bucket list!
