April One Monthly Goal Finish

I finished my April One Monthly Goal: Cheddarback last night. It was a fun block of the month/sew along. Part of the fun was how challenging some of the blocks were to accomplish. I rearranged the lower corner blocks so the darkest blocks would be at the bottom--just looked a little better to me. 
I used my Easy Fans pantograph to do the quilting. 

I think this is one of my favorite blocks (not just because it's blue and white). I would love to make a whole quilt from this one. 

Another favorite, but I probably would never make an entire quilt from this one because of that square in a square (my nemesis).

And lastly--the Cheddar Back!

    What a great sampler! I like the mix of large and small blocks. The cheddar is perfect for the backing.

    What a fabulous finish. It has a wonderful vintage vibe and the fan quilting is so appropriate. You've included some lovely vintage style fabrics in your favorite blue and white block. It's a great combo. Nice idea to put the cheddar fabric on the back!

    It turned out wonderful! The arrangement of the blocks is just perfect. I wish my Cheddarback quilt was quilted already. I love the shade of Cheddar you chose for the back. What an accomplishment.

    You really did put a cheddar backing on the quilt! Nice.

    Do you ever quilt for other people? I have a friend looking for someone who will do the Baptist Fan. Our two local shops that do all over quilting have no interest in doing it.

    Congratulations on a beautiful quilt and a great finish, Karen! I was searching for the blocks you substituted (from the originals) and this quilt is so full of blocks that it's hard to find them. I almost think any block pattern in the right colors and from about the late-1800s and early 1900s would work as a substitute.
    I wonder how many who made the quilt will choose cheddar for the back. (I'm not one of them!)

    Oh, it's fabulous! I love it. I love the choices you made. You may have posted about this, but is the 5-0 in the bottom row to commemorate a special birthday? ;). I am looking forward to starting mine sometime soon. I love the orderly arrangement of big and small blocks... the variety, etc. And.... the cheddar back is great!
