Temecula Quilt Company's Marvelous Mini Monday |
My list of goals for the month of October is long, but this little quilt will be my One Monthly Goal from the UFO pile. |
Palmateer Point |
Okay--I've never been able to participate in one of Lori's little SAL's for one reason or another, but this time I already had a drawer full of 4 patches and was compelled to sew! I added a row at the top on bottom to make it into a rectangle. There will be more instructions coming for this little quilt on Friday--we'll see if my rectangle works out! |
The stars are super simple wool applique. I used Block Base software to size block #3685 Texas Ranger's Badge to four inches. |
And......
My friend Brenda P. gifted me with this wondrous pile of plaids. I don't know what the first project will be using them but I have a long list of ideas swirling around in my head.
There are a few homespun fabrics, but for the most part they are the recycled shirts I've been lusting after--and they are 99.9% blues!!!! Thanks again Brenda--I love them! |

The plaids are wonderful, and all blues, what a treat. Can't wait to see what you do with them. The sashing on the Temecula quilt is perfect and I like how you used solid blue sashing on the horizontal pieces. Love the white pumpkin. We have a few big green ones that probably won't turn orange by Oct 31st. We'll just have some green jack o'lanterns.
ReplyDeleteGreat job on the MMM SAL.
ReplyDeleteI love the flag block--really looks good!
Your Palmateer Point in all blues with little flecks of gold is wonderful!
Oh, my goodness--all those blue plaid shirts have my mouth watering, or my fingers itching, or something. :)
Lots of lovely projects. Good luck with your goals.
ReplyDeleteLove those small blocks. Thanks for linking up with Elm Street Quilts One Monthly Goal and good luck on your project.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful friend to give you all of those beautiful blue plaids! You are so lucky. I've been trying to gather some blues for a quilt for my nephew and I am so jealous.
ReplyDeleteWonderful goals.....love the pumpkin
ReplyDeleteYou've got some great stuff there, Karen. Good job on the Marvelous Mini! And I love what you did with the Palmeter Point SAL - blue! Also drooling over those blue plaids...
ReplyDeleteWow! What a nice friend to gift you with all of those blue plaids!
ReplyDeleteWow you have a lot planned for October. I love the Texas stars. That white pumpkin looks great.
ReplyDeleteYour working with a lot of blue this month. You'll have plenty of projects for your quilting retreats. The flag border is wonderful and, of course, the white pumpkin is perfect.
ReplyDeleteYour blues and rectangle worked out really great! Enjoying visiting all the different Palamateer Point quilts.
ReplyDeleteI like the Texas Tribute mini very much. We lived in Texas for several years.
ReplyDeleteI saw some really ugly pumpkins the other day. At least, I think they were pumpkins. One had big bumps all over it and looked black like mold growing on it. And at the drug store, they had blue plastic pumpkins. I asked the cashier if they ever sold any and she said no but that she thought they were a signal to let parents know that the goodies they were giving out were gluten free (she wasn't sure if that was what it meant but it was some sort of food allergy).
I see you got some spam comments. I have been getting them too. I go in and delete them as spam.
I love your blue Palmateer Point top, and the others too! Blue is a color I hardly ever use, even though I usually love it when I see it in other's quilts.
ReplyDeleteLove all your blue projects. You've been busy
ReplyDeleteHave fun with your goals.
