I haven't started an Eagle Quilt yet, but
I seem to be seeing eagles everywhere!
I've always wanted to make this Jo Morton quilt. (Banner Day book) |
And I have the panel needed to make this Jo Morton quilt. (Banner Day book) |
This Kim Diehl pattern is also on my list! (Simple Season's book) |
My friend Julierose reminded me about this one in American Patchwork and Quilting magazine. (October 2002) |
Maybe a quilt of just eagles? (Nancy Kirk collection) |
And right outside my sewing room window, the eagle watches!! (wish it was a better photo--taken through the glass window and it was raining!) |
I think I see a series of Eagle Quilts in my future!
Just sayin': I LOVE that Kim Diehl one--I may have to get that book to add to my library (which, of course is overflowing)...they are all wonderful, but there is something about the shape of that eagle of KD's that I am drawn to...I just know that whichever one you choose it'll be beautiful...hugs, Julierose
ReplyDeleteWow! It's going to be a hard decision to decide which quilt to make. I didn't realize there were so many different eagle quilts out there. There is something about an Eagle quilt that shouts, "I love my country!"
ReplyDeleteI just love eagle quilts also. I have a Pinterest board for them and added a couple of your ideas. Also, I designed a quilt with eagles on it a few years ago that I love! Have fun!
ReplyDeleteI have a pattern for a more simple eagle like you show and it is repeated over the whole quilt. I have thought about doing that one in the future. I have the Kim Diehl one in the works and the Flags of the American Revolution. Enough for right now.
ReplyDeleteHow exciting to see an eagle right outside your window!
