This week has been pretty crazy--hard to believe it's only Wednesday! I've already had my teeth cleaned, my wrists injected with cortisone, and my hair cut. What I haven't done is any sewing. I'm in the process of rearranging my sewing room, literally moving every single thing but my design wall (which may get moved yet). Lots of cleaning, sorting and purging has been going on, and I am pretty happy with the new layout. My only problem is finding a good set up spot for my printer/laptop. I am way behind on my internet quilt trolling--lol!
I did get some things accomplished while at quilt camp--a few more 4"x 5" Anthology blocks. They are pretty fun to make and so darn cute since they are so little. |
I also got the diamond pieced bottoms of my Cherry Baskets sewn at camp. When I got home, I prepped the handle units using a piece of freezer paper ironed to the backgrounds. |
Always love seeing your projects Karen.... they never disappoint.... always beautiful! I have been a bit slow getting started this year too.... one day I will get going again!! Christine x
ReplyDeleteSuch lovely projects! I hope you share some pics of your sewing room changing. That is always fun to see :-)
ReplyDeleteGetting organized is a challenge just in itself. But a good thing to do occassionly. Great idea with the freezer paper for your handle placement. I'm going to remember that. I use a plastic cover for applique placement and like you I shoot for the right neighborhood. PS I'm sitting in the dentist office right now
ReplyDeleteYour Anthology blocks look great! Organizing and cleaning up can be exhausting, hope your new lay out works. Thanks for sharing the tip for handle placement, great idea.
ReplyDeleteThat's really great that you've been able to organize your sewing space. It's like cleansing the inner soul almost. It's something I need to do in the near future. I like the template idea for placing the basket handles. I'm going to have to remember that.
ReplyDeleteThose are some tiny pieces in your Anthology blocks!! Love them. :)
ReplyDeleteVery clever technique on the basket handle placement. I can already tell these are going to be great basket blocks!
All very nice!
ReplyDeleteIt is a busy time for you. I like the idea yo have used with the freezer paper to help line up the handles. I will find that useful.
ReplyDeleteYou've got a lot done and the organizing is often the base for getting more done. Been there done that and then I got disorganized again but it worked for awhile ha ha! : )
ReplyDeleteIt looks as though you have done a lot of sewing!! All the best for e reorganization of your sewing room.
ReplyDeleteI have told you before that you do marvelous things with your blue fabric collection. I had forgotten about the anthology blocks. I never did purchase that book. I like the stripe handle you are going to use for the cherry baskets. I think I need to make some of those.
ReplyDeleteLook how productive you've been even in the middle of self-care and room redesign! Way to go :o) Isn't it fun to have the fresh perspective that comes from moving things around? I'm always amazed by the impact it has on making me "see" the things around me.
ReplyDeleteI think this is one of the most significant information for me.
ReplyDeleteAnd i’m glad reading your article.
But should remark on some general things, the web site style is perfect,
the articles is really great : D. Good job…
