I am told that if you subscribe to Moosebay Muses by email, the Feedburner platform is going away and you won't receive the latest post in your mailbox after June. I've made the difficult decision to stop blogging and not make the move to a new platform. I want to thank everyone that has followed the blog--I thank you from the very bottom of my heart! It has been wonderful meeting and conversing with other quilting enthusiasts and making new friends. I am still posting (occasionally!) on Instagram and hope you will look me up there--I am <a href="https://www.instagram.com/breezypointquilter/">breezypointquilter</a>. </p><p>These are the last of the photos on my camera--I haven't completed anything in the months since my previous post way back in January, but have started several--lol! </p><p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgFfPV5hgGWKibqr6qrmUZxiFMIDQLyIq1DvZMK-jR0vlsvC666J28rxGU_Y48RGuUn_OLqq2JjCEc3BcBlKnN53h1JbRooYam0PbZemtlHml51VZmdQN2JP0k8vio-bWPHAIrkOlS7AF4/s1600/1-DSC08602.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgFfPV5hgGWKibqr6qrmUZxiFMIDQLyIq1DvZMK-jR0vlsvC666J28rxGU_Y48RGuUn_OLqq2JjCEc3BcBlKnN53h1JbRooYam0PbZemtlHml51VZmdQN2JP0k8vio-bWPHAIrkOlS7AF4/s320/1-DSC08602.JPG" width="320" /></a></p><p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjx1Ra2q04O9mOSta-yws0E5l0isg5YW8uFPteRULH200bfXWomYUNaihd4_Gt858mzrtYtpB7PglrpzpwDXjRMsROsMASfEWX7C15R9D225Fl1t7a5Y6lkwRzdRlQngOiZKtUFBEmMcJI/s1600/1-DSC08603.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1540" data-original-width="1600" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjx1Ra2q04O9mOSta-yws0E5l0isg5YW8uFPteRULH200bfXWomYUNaihd4_Gt858mzrtYtpB7PglrpzpwDXjRMsROsMASfEWX7C15R9D225Fl1t7a5Y6lkwRzdRlQngOiZKtUFBEmMcJI/s320/1-DSC08603.JPG" width="320" /></a><br /></p><p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjvNT16jc-KQcDXPsK1zz-Rso5hD5YeJnYNH-ImKw2cdS9aoWQql3ep-50k2QSWlIuGuchh0VBSPXdnRwchE5tDI0rBGiIIrJS9qFl5ke-UVJ5hIg1hweX70jeZQ_uIcdN-3QX8tKVJRqY/s1600/1-DSC08605.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjvNT16jc-KQcDXPsK1zz-Rso5hD5YeJnYNH-ImKw2cdS9aoWQql3ep-50k2QSWlIuGuchh0VBSPXdnRwchE5tDI0rBGiIIrJS9qFl5ke-UVJ5hIg1hweX70jeZQ_uIcdN-3QX8tKVJRqY/s320/1-DSC08605.JPG" width="320" /></a></p><p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMrnN4fO_3qBYsSJRQTnRSBP5FRd-6erYwmEhkQ8lDzUp782h1N4jGwuUiUOKNMAdSjno-5DNoeuFMFyPVi1o8Obd_SaTHB54R_oIrtI7TkuK7bo-T99Ly9ed_CncEx0Lslki8btzx-gg/s1600/1-DSC08604.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1515" data-original-width="1600" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMrnN4fO_3qBYsSJRQTnRSBP5FRd-6erYwmEhkQ8lDzUp782h1N4jGwuUiUOKNMAdSjno-5DNoeuFMFyPVi1o8Obd_SaTHB54R_oIrtI7TkuK7bo-T99Ly9ed_CncEx0Lslki8btzx-gg/s320/1-DSC08604.JPG" width="320" /></a></p><p>I'm still working on the log cabins and decided on this setting if I ever finish all of the blocks. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh9dsitiERAVQ96tT-r3Equ8bzvYPwyNmcBCf-CQpzTeUVnFPD1h9WKqKyCf1BkigColhP1RL-YD9dPldWI8KxR-JboAZwhJVaBH5nRE6u08JjAzMKyGnvFqPzjN42SDqh0uZMlYaKIiD8/s1600/1-DSC08606.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh9dsitiERAVQ96tT-r3Equ8bzvYPwyNmcBCf-CQpzTeUVnFPD1h9WKqKyCf1BkigColhP1RL-YD9dPldWI8KxR-JboAZwhJVaBH5nRE6u08JjAzMKyGnvFqPzjN42SDqh0uZMlYaKIiD8/w400-h300/1-DSC08606.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I needed a hand sewing project and decided to start Di Ford's Route 66 quilt. It has taken me weeks to just choose the fabrics--my brain doesn't seem to be functioning on all cylinders--lol! It's going to be slow going getting the edges prepped and sewn as I have a bit of tremor in my hands. Hopefully that will clear up soon. </p><p style="text-align: center;">Thanksgiving is going to be different for us all, but I hope you will be safe! A week later, I woke to find that my entire colon had been removed, I had lost 20 pounds, was now diabetic, and had an ileostomy . They told me I had been in an induced coma as I "coded" and intubated during the first part of the surgery that was done to remove necrotic tissue. The rest of the surgery was finished the following day. I also had a dangerous C. Diff infection. Thankfully, I don't remember anything that happened before, during and for quite a while afterwards. The surgeon told me that he had done my particular surgery only five times before and he had only two survivors. I was one of them. I had been feeling a little angry that he had taken my whole colon, but realized what a miracle it was that I was even alive and so grateful for all of the efforts taken to make that happen. I developed hospital-acquired and aspirational pneumonia. I became malnourished and had a feeding tube put in causing me to lose my voice and ability to swallow. </p><p>Finally, after three weeks flat on my back, I was sent to a nursing/rehab center. I worked very hard to get back on my feet and had an awesome team working with me. I was told I would probably be there for up to six weeks, but I am home now after only two weeks. I have nursing care coming in to help with my ileostomy, but I can dress and shower myself. </p><p>The only time I cried during this ordeal was when I was gathering my things to go home.... </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiG1ObIxV0GPyUkILDYvNRekciUqsSCkYclR9Z6rEpwGwxZtDikArEnMYEiom7VQNinMIw3_4akaFfEi_tfFpjBu7T7CeYV99R93PXBU5aIzT2ESBsT_6qSZhYTTf-sBpJtnLstDVLeAG8/s1600/1-DSC08583.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1123" data-original-width="1600" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiG1ObIxV0GPyUkILDYvNRekciUqsSCkYclR9Z6rEpwGwxZtDikArEnMYEiom7VQNinMIw3_4akaFfEi_tfFpjBu7T7CeYV99R93PXBU5aIzT2ESBsT_6qSZhYTTf-sBpJtnLstDVLeAG8/s320/1-DSC08583.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I was so overwhelmed by how many wonderful cards, email, texts and messages I got with words of encouragement. <div style="text-align: center;">
Now I have some big decisions to make. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I am having second thoughts on the yellow gingham alternate blocks (do I really want a yellow quilt?). Also, do I set the blocks like the <a href="https://sentimentalstitches.myshopify.com/products/sweet-william-quilt-pattern">original</a> quilt or a regular on point setting?</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
So many things to ponder! </div>

In the last two weeks I have started a couple of new projects. </div>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: small;">One of them is this Wild Goose Chase kit that came from the stash of a quilt camp friend, Kitty.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: small;">In the pattern, there were pages upon pages for the paper pieced flying geese--not my favorite method. I decided to use my Quilt in A Day ruler to make the geese units. I needed to add a few extra fabrics to be able to do that, also making it a little bit scrappy--a good thing, in my book. </span></td></tr>
