March UFO Goal and Little Slow Stuff...

I feel like I have turned a corner in the saga of my Stitching Society wool hexagons....
I've finished the fly stitching on all five sections, and they are now ready to be put together. My One Monthly Goal is to get these five sections together and make them into a quilt!

Sharyl from Temecula Quilt Co. put out the call for signed Anniversary Cake blocks (and to use our favorite color) for an Anniversary Quilt she is making. I have had so much enjoyment doing her free sew along's the past few years, I felt I had to at least make this one little block.
FYI: If you make one, use a very scant seam allowance--I had issues getting my block to measure 4.25"!

Mr. Moosebay is have some surgery done on Tuesday, so today I will get my Primitive Garden Block 6 prepped and ready to take along. I think it will be a bit easier to handle in the waiting room than my wooly hexagons--lol!

Today is Slow Sunday Stitching, so I know I will be making progress on my One Monthly Goal--happy stitching!

  1. Hope hubby's surgery goes well; good idea to have a project ready to go. As for all these wool projects I see everyone doing, I just admire from afar. I don't dare let myself begin yet another form of needlework. 🤣

  2. Boy, that block you have prepped to applique is "right up my alley". It's a beautiful design. I bet it's going to be fun to stitch. The printing on that little block is so NICE and EVEN. I wish my handwriting looked that good

  3. Are the hexagons joined by the fly stitch or are they are sewn one to another?

  7. Haha, I almost used the same fabric for the Anniversary block. Used a dark blue Jo Morton instead. I felt the same way about enjoying all their patterns. Thanks for sharing.

  15. Getting so close on the hexagons!
I saw the call for those signed blocks, but I figured by the time I could get one made she would have the quilt bound! : )
That looks like a beautiful applique block you will be working on as a "lady in waiting (room)". Wishing the best for your hubby's surgery!

  18. Your hexagon blogs look lovely, well done. I've got that Primitive Garden pattern also I saw it in progress several years ago. The ship only offer d it as a BOM but I eventually found where it came from and got the pattern. I've been choosing fabrics along the way to give it my own twist to it. Block six looks good. Hope all goes well for your husbands surgery.
